DSC_3378EURAS Academy was held at one of our most valuable members Odlar Yurdu University in Baku, Azerbaijan on 6th of October, 2016. Before going through the content and highlights of the event it is a must to repeat the attendance of EURAS President Dr. Mustafa Aydın in order to host all of the 22 participating universities from Azerbaijan at the highest level of representation.

EURAS Academy, due to a fairly long lasted preparation has taken place during the whole day via the speeches occurred by EURAS President Dr. Mustafa Aydin, Rector of Odlar Yurdu University Prof. Ahmad Valiyev, Rector of Baku Higher Oil School Associate Professor Elmar Qasimov and Education Councilor of Turkey in Azerbaijan Abdulgafur Buyukfirat.

The headline of EURAS Academy training session was ‘The most efficient internationalization methods for your university’ as it was mentioned on the previous EURAS publications and on EURAS web site. The purpose that leaded us to run EURAS Academy with this sort of content is that internationalization has been one of the main cores throughout the history EURAS.

EURAS Academy session started with definition, aspects and benefits at the very beginning of internationalization in order to provide a well based training for the broader content at further stages of the program. The following sections were methods and tools to be used for internationalization and how to adopt them into various regions and countries through different approaches. The second major part of the program was actually based on familiarity with the institutions, goals and projects in accordance with the institution where the study was combined with SWOT and SOAR analyses. Moreover strategic planning, organizational structure, sources as well as problems, resolutions and good examples were the following key issues of the training where it was finally concluded with road map and teamwork as the essentials of way out for the targeted success. At the end of day the summary of the event could be made as the high attention of the international office professionals in addition to other attendees who all said that they were absolutely happy with the program and presented their appreciations.

Coming back to one of the speeches done by EURAS President Dr. Mustafa Aydın would help the sense of Eurasia concept come out once again. It was clearly indicated by him that 70 percent of the world population are currently living in Eurasian region in addition to existence of a great economic capability and natural sources where the energy sources cover three quarters of the known ones globally. Furthermore another important part of his speech was consisted of the value of internationalization for the competitive advantage of universities, and the contribution of governments and officials on internationalization process in higher education. Particularly it could be thought of as a crucial quotation that ‘Today there is no higher education institution that does not identify itself as an international or global university’.
