Call for Papers: EURAS Academic Journal

EURAS Academic Journal invites proposals for its upcoming issues that seek to focus on the variety of dynamics in Engineering: Research, Innovation and Technology and Education, Culture and Society. Guidance about how to propose a special issue can be found in the online author instructions. Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through euras@euras-edu.org.tr .

Manuel Marín – Father of Erasmus Program

As EURAS, we are deeply saddened by the loss of former Spanish Commissioner and father of the Erasmus Program, Manuel Marín. Upon presenting Erasmus officially in 1987, he stated: "Erasmus is a program of hope for the young people of Europe". We would like to extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, loved ones and Erasmus+ world.

Pristina International Summer University 2018

This year, University of Pristina is organizing the 18th edition of the Pristina International Summer University that will be held between 9 and 20 July, 2018. This year’s program will bring domestic and international academics and lecturers for two weeks, and will provide credited courses including a wide range of study fields like law, economics, sports, social sciences etc. In the previous editions, PISU hosted a large number of international professors and students. 90th birth anniversary of Givi Machavariani, Georgian linguist at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University

On 6th of December, the Faculty of Humanities of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) organized a meeting marking the 90th birth anniversary of Georgian linguist, Givi Machavariani. Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze; Dean of the TSU Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Nana Gaprindashvili; scientists, academics, students and invited guests attended the event. Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze said that Givi Machavariani created an epoch in terms of comparative analysis of Kartvelian languages. “He was distinguished by his intensive scientific activities, unique skills. read more

Conference on Asian Cultural Dialogues by Bu-Ali Sina University and Secretariat of the International Cultural Dialogues

Bu-Ali Sina University and Secretariat of the International Cultural Dialogues will organize the Asian Cultural Dialogues on Cultural Diversity and Asian Cooperation with the presence of notable cultural figures and thinkers between 13 and 15 January, 2018 in Iran to promote understanding and cooperation in Asia aiming at the elimination of the increasing threats of violent extremism. The main topic themes of the conference are as follow: Cultural Diversity in Asia, Opportunities and Capacities for Interaction, Cooperation and Convergence; Strengthening the status of Muslim developing countries in the world through higher education and science and technology development; Sharing ideas, experiences and best practices for internalization of higher education among D-8 nations.

Cooperation between Kazan University and Governorate of Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan

Memorandum of understanding was signed by Kazan University and Governorate of Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan. The signatories were Vice-Rector Linar Latypov and Deputy Governor Odillkhon Rustamov. read more

Collaboration between British Council and EURAS

EURAS supports Going Global Conference organized by British Council. Going Global, the British Council's annual higher education conference, will be held on 2-4 May, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in a country which has a growing reputation as a higher education hub in the region. Registration for Going Global 2018 will open on 9th of January, 2018 and EURAS Members and network will have special registration fee and discounted pass for Going Global 2018. The European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 takes off

Celebrations for the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage are kicked off at the European Culture Forum in Milan. Antonio Tajani, President of the European Parliament, Estonian Minister of Culture, Italian Minister of Culture and 800 EU representatives of the cultural sector and civil society attended the event on 7th of December. EU and China Cooperation

24 new topics with a total budget of over 100 million euro will promote research and innovation cooperation with China in the Horizon 2020 work program for 2018-2020. 11 topics are directly linked to the joint flagship initiatives agreed at the 3rd EU-China Innovation Cooperation Dialogue of June 2017. EUA supports the Lifelong Learning Platform’s Erasmusx10 Campaign

The Lifelong Learning Platform (LLLP), together with the European Youth Forum (YFJ) and Eurodesk, launched a campaign in September calling for a 10-fold increase to the budget of Erasmus+. EUA agrees there is a need for a more ambitious Erasmus+ program. Vivienne Stern, Director of Universities UK International, said this week in London that post-study work pathways, along with better marketing, will be the key to the UK HE sector making a success of Brexit. WELCOME EURAS MEMBERS

EMUNI University is an international association of universities with headquarters in Slovenia. It represents one of the six projects of the Union of the Mediterranean, approved in the frame of a common declaration, adopted in Paris on 13 July 2009 with the objective of becoming an international, post-graduate, higher-education and research institution, fully integrated into the Euro-Mediterranean Area.

Since its establishment in 2008, the Euro-Mediterranean University, one of the priority projects of the Union for the Mediterranean, has become an international institution, which gathers expert knowledge and experience of the Euro-Mediterranean countries and thus contributes in a significant way to the creation of a unified, integrated Euro-Mediterranean higher education and research area. The activities of EMUNI University focus on the Union for the Mediterranean priority areas as well as maritime and land highways, alternative energies, culture and tourism, human rights and migration, civil protection, gender issues, water management, foreign policy, business development initiative and Euro-Mediterranean higher education and research the Euro-Mediterranean universities. The study programs will cover themes and areas, which are significant for the Euro-Mediterranean Area. Specifically the education programs given by EMUNI University are Master in Intercultural Business Communication, Euro-Med Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate, “Blue Mission” Training Course and EMUNI Summer School.

We are delighted to have EMUNI University within Eurasian Universities Union. We are eagerly looking forward to our future cooperation and strengthening our bonds.
