Innovation and Invention Workshops held by EURAS and IFIA were achieved successfully
“Road to Success” and “Innovation and Invention: From Idea to Invention, from Invention to Commercialization” workshops were held successfully in Istanbul Aydin University on 20 December, 2017. Eurasian Universities Union and International Federation of Innovators Association (IFIA) were the organizers of the workshop and Dr. Masoud Tajbakhsh, Director of Planning and Academic Cooperation of IFIA honored the workshop with his speech.

On 6th of December, the Faculty of Humanities of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) organized a meeting marking the 90th birth anniversary of Georgian linguist, Givi Machavariani. Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze; Dean of the TSU Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Nana Gaprindashvili; scientists, academics, students and invited guests attended the event. Fewer international students are observed to apply for public universities in Bangladesh
A large number of international students who decide to pursue higher education in Bangladesh are observed to choose private universities over public ones. The admission eligibility at private universities is more flexible than the public universities. Hence, many foreigners cannot even apply to public universities. Last year, there were only 355 international students at 19 public universities, while the figure stood at 1,927 at 34 private universities. Turkish Universities gathered at Erasmus+ Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting of Erasmus+ for Turkish Universities was organized by Turkish National Agency on 21-22 December, 2017 hosted by Akdeniz University, Antalya, Turkey. During the meeting, specific updates and evaluations were expressed as well as current situations such as: 2018 Call for proposals and latest changes, recognition processes, reducing the documents and workload of Erasmus+ offices, the establishment of cultural workshops for the outgoing students not to stumble culturally and updated Erasmus+ procedures.
Cyber-Security Malaysia plans to raise more experts on its field within universities
CyberSecurity Malaysia, the national cyber security specialist agency under the ministry of science, technology and innovation, is working closely with universities in the country to develop talent that covers a comprehensive set of expertise in the cyber security field. Its Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dr. Amirudin Abdul Wahab said cyber security professionals in Malaysia are lacking just like elsewhere in the world. Gulf Medical University (GMU) established in 1998 is a leading medical university in the Gulf region. GMU offers Medical and Health Professional Education in the field of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Anesthesia & Surgical Technology, and Medical Imaging Sciences. GMU offers postgraduate programs in Toxicology, Public Health, and Clinical Pathology.
