EURIE, 2017 – Study in Turkey and DEIK Higher Education Business Council Meeting

On January 31, 2017, DEIK - Higher Education Business Council of Turkey held a meeting for Turkish Universities that will be represented at 2017 EURIE Summit under Study in Turkey Pavilion. The meeting, chaired by President, Dr. Mustafa AYDIN, was hosted at the DEIK Central Office and attended by EURIE Advisory Board Members’, DEIK- Higher Education Business Council member institutions’ as well as the Exhibitor Universities’ representatives.

DEIK – Higher Education Business Council is organizing the Study in Turkey pavilion at EURIE 2017. The Study in Turkey pavilion ensures a strong and united Turkish Higher Education presence. This year Study in Turkey pavilion will be the largest ever in EURIE and will be valuable to participating institutions, as it profiled Turkey at EURIE Expo Hall, and provided a central meeting point and networking area for institutions.

Tertiary Education Must Be Redesigned

According to Malaysian Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, higher education institutions have to better understand all needs of students in relation to the current state of the world where technology is prevalent. The effort of each university should be focused on producing a holistic graduates who are highly employable, innovative and are adoptable to present and future unpredictable job market. The Malaysian Higher Education Ministry established a serious initiative and H.E. Morocco’s Readmission to the African Union

Morocco was the only non-member country of African Union, left its predecessor, the Organization of African Unity, in 1984 after a majority of the member states recognized the disputed territory of Western Sahara. After 33 year it has been readmitted to the AU followed by the campaign of Morocco’s King Mohammed VI. This week we would like to introduce our member university from Iraq – University of Raparin (UoR). UoR is a public university, established in year 2010 and located in Ranya region in Iraq. Future students can choose programs from 5 faculties – Nursing Scool, Faculty of Humanity Sciences, Faculty of Basic Education, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Education. University of Raparin is a very active university in terms of organized festivals, workshops, seminars, conferences and other activities that highlight the importance of higher education in the region. The university has signed memorandum of understanding with (18) international universities for staff and scientific exchange and UoR was able to participate in ten different international projects so far. Except being a member of EURAS, University of Raparin holds a membership in International Association of Universities (IAU).
