EURAS was represented in Iran on 14th and 15th of January

EURAS Team visited Iran through where EURAS President Dr. Mustafa Aydin represented Eurasian Universities Union through the highest level of representation. Firstly it should be listed that the meetings were occurred with Ministry of Science, Ministry of Research and Technology and Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Islamic Republic of Iran to discuss about the opportunities to improve the quality of education throughout the Eurasian region. Moreover there were also visits to Iranian universities such as University of Tehran, Shariati University of Tehran, Tehran’s Art University, Qazvin University, Shahid Beheshti University and Yazd University and Amir Kabir University of Technology which is one of the valuable EURAS members.

 

Kazan University's Cooperation with Latin America Will Receive Support on the Federal Level

Kazan Federal University, Russia has become a participant of the national program of cooperation together with Colombia, Venezuela and Cuba. The program is aimed at facilitating academic cooperation of the leading Russian universities with their colleagues in Latin America. The Vice-Rector of KFU Danis Nurgaliev commented: “Latin America is a very promising and interesting region.“ One of the main priorities is to promote Russian-based science in Latin America. Mechanical Engineering Research Day

• The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM) in association with the Centre for Advanced Research on Energy (CARe), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) will organize a one-day national level poster seminar Mechanical Engineering Research Day 2017. The objective is for the scientists, scholars, researchers, engineers and students from Higher Educational Institutions, Research Institutions and Industries in Malaysia to present findings of ongoing/completed original research activities, and hence foster research collaborations between the universities and the industries. The other objective is to introduce young researchers in the scientific field of mechanical engineering through poster presentations and publications, to offer mentoring through senior researchers/scientists, and to foster the building of networks through the informal style of the event. Having Malaysian higher education standards remained at highest level

• Since Malaysia has been increasingly preferred for higher education by international students question marks can possibly come out if the quality will be kept at good levels. Considering that Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) has acknowledged the eligibility of 11.464 academicians it can be clearly seen that higher education sector in Malaysia has a huge capability in terms of quantity where it requires special attentive policies to keep the perfectionistic quality structure within higher education. The establishment of MQA by Ministry of Higher Education MOHE has been quite beneficial for academic development that occurred observable impacts on the progress of the sector.

Higher Education in South Africa is making a tremendous progress

• Through National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), over 1.7 million students have been funded since 1994. This fund supports poorer future undergraduate and graduate students who want to enroll. NSFAS also disbursed loans and bursaries totaling R14 billion to students in 2016. Higher Education Minister of South Africa Blade Nzimande said that this is a grant, which covers the increases for tuition fees and university or college-managed accommodation, and will not have to be repaid by qualifying students. He said NSFAS qualifying students will not pay any registration or upfront fees in 2017, as government has made arrangements through NSFAS to pay the registration fees for all funded students as an upfront payment to universities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges in January each year. Today we would like to introduce our University member from Hungary – Budapest Business School (BBS). The BSS, Hungary's market leading university, educating over 16.000 students, was established as a result of the Hungarian education integration in 2000, but the history of this University goes to year 1857. We must mention that in year 2013 the BBS received a title of "University of Applied Sciences". University offers 12 undergraduate and 7 post-graduate programs, 21 post-secondary vocational training programs, 48 post-graduate diploma courses and numerous adult education programs to its prospective students. Hungarian higher education itself shows significant progresses and outstandingly contributes to European higher education system.
