EURAS Academic Journal is an open-access, peer-reviewed international journal published by Eurasian Universities Union. It is committed to provide a lively meeting-place for international perspectives on scientific developments across the globe. EURAS Academic Journal has a multidisciplinary basis in which every issue has a different subject matter. Istanbul Aydin University’s start-up-Digime3D’s success in health sector
Digime3D, one of the startups under “Biocube İstanbul” which is established firstly in Turkey by Istanbul Aydin University to support health innovation and entrepreneurship, thanks to its special software and high-sensitive 3D scanner, allows you to create a perfect three-dimensional model of your body and clearly see which part of your body has changed. Digime3D’s “Digi Health” solution allows simultaneous calculation and development tracking of many data such as body fat percentage and daily caloric need. Digime3D separates from its competitors in the world thanks to its high sensitivity and portable characteristics; offers a cost-effective, highly sensitive and easy-to-use solution for sports centers, dietitians, healthcare organizations and textile companies. Digime3D which has accomplished a first in this regard in Turkey provides body analysis with 3D imaging technology received its first investment at a valuation of 2.2 million TL.
University of Trieste at U-Multirank 2018
In the 2018 edition , in which 48 universities participate in Italy, the University of Trieste obtained the scores in main rankings. The new " U-Multirank " ranking was recently has been published, a project launched five years ago by the European Union, thanks to funds from the Erasmus+ program, with the aim of evaluating universities according to 35 indicators in different sectors, with scores ranging from 0 to 5. Turkish and Refugee Children Meet At “I Learn About Turkey” Project
Yunus Emre Institute, which implements cultural, artistic and scientific activities in many parts of the world in order to promote Turkey and the Turkish language, history, culture and art as well as enhance Turkey’s cultural exchanges and friendship with other countries, is launching a new project called “I Learn About Turkey”. The Institute aims to provide an opportunity for the Turkish and foreign children living in Ankara, Gaziantep, Adana, Mersin, Konya, İzmir, Bursa, Kilis, Hatay and Şanlıurfa provinces who have never left their provinces before to visit other cities in order to learn more about Turkey. In particular, the project aims to get the foreign children who are victims of war socialize with their Turkish peers. The project “I Learn About Turkey” will be implemented jointly by the Yunus Emre Institute and the Children Protection Center of the Ankara Branch of the Turkish Red Crescent. It covers a cultural program involving visits to Istanbul, Bursa, Nevşehir and Ankara.
The higher education landscape is changing fast
The landscape of higher education globally goes on to shift remarkably. There were 32.6 million students enrolled in higher education institutions compared to 99.9 million in 2000 in 1970 according to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics. This represents an increase of 206% over this period. Russian Universities in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final
With the preparation and the launch of the World Cup in Russia, universities have flagged support for the football and are participating in World Cup. The leading Russian universities, Russian Academic Excellence Project participants (Project 5-100), took some serious creative brainpower that caused a positive effect. They prepared and successfully implemented a number of innovative projects and outstanding technological solutions in various areas related to this event. While the final result depends on how teams will play, generating ideas can provide a measure of depth. Policy Dialogue on the eve of the Bologna Ministerial Conference
The inHERE (Higher Education Supporting Refugees in Europe) project partner Campus France organised a Policy Dialogue on 22 May 2018 in Paris, on the eve of the Bologna Ministerial Conference, to discuss the required measures to support higher education institutions’ efforts in integrating refugee students and researchers. The inHERE project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ program and brings together UNIMED, EUA, Campus France, the University of Barcelona, Sapienza University and the UNHCR (associate partner). Representatives from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation welcomed around 70 participants from universities and other organisations. Panellists and discussants at the event agreed that while universities engage with refugees in a very proactive and dynamic fashion, policy level support at different levels is of crucial importance.
Kosovo signs the Agreement to increase their participation in Erasmus+
The Agreement has been signed by Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Tibor Navracsics and with the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr Bytyqi Shyqeri on 5th June, which will increase Kosovo's participation in Erasmus+. By upgrading its participation, Kosovo will continue participating in the international dimension of the program as partner country but will be able to benefit from different European policy support networks such as the European Qualifications Framework, Eurydice, Europass and Euroguidance and electronic platforms (including eTwinning and EPALE). This brings it on equal footing with its Western Balkan neighbours as well as the EU Member States when it comes to those policy support networks…read more
