EURAS & EURIE Team at NAFSA 2018

NAFSA 2018 has been held successfully in Philadelphia, USA between May 27-June 1, 2018 where EURAS & EURIE were greatly represented throughout the event. NAFSA 2018 program which included many programs specifically related to global learning. Participants gained new strategies to develop global learning skills as well as techniques for creating and assessing cross-cultural engagement during the event. During the event, new collaborations, joint projects and other co-operative activities were carried out in terms of future EURAS projects and EURIE 2019 participation. An increasing number of projects have been aimed to strengthen such collaboration by collocating participants from different corporations. As EURAS, we would like to thank NAFSA Organizers, Participants, Collaborators and EURAS & EURIE Network and wish best of luck to international education professionals and institutions who will be receiving free complimentary passes for EURIE 2019 – Eurasia Higher Education Summit in Istanbul, on 27 February-1 March, 2018. An “Honorary Doctorate” From “Odessa National Polytechnic University” to EURAS President - Dr. Mustafa AYDIN

Odessa National Polytechnic University was founded in 1918 in Odessa which is Ukraine's third largest city, gave an "honorary doctorate" to Dr. Mustafa Aydın,President of EURAS- Eurasian Universities Union for his contributions to the science world through the works he performed as being the founding president of Eurasian Universities Union and his education and research studies. Being one of the leading universities in Ukraine with its Nobel Prize winning academicians, Odessa National Polytechnic University specially serves an important function in the development of education and science. Speaking at the ceremony held in Odessa National Polytechnic University. Dr. Mustafa Aydın leaned on and stated some important topics that is related to mobilization in higher education.

World STEM Education Conference supported by EURAS

EURAS supports World STEM Education Conference that is organized by Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) and The International Council of Associations for Science Education (ICASE) on 8-9 June, 2018. World Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education Conference aims to bring all stakeholders together to promote STEM education around the world. The primarily goal of STEM education is to prepare students for their future lives and careers, and to create problem solvers that are prepared to engage in design and production. Therefore, its culture of inquiry leads to important contributions to the country’s economic developments since students will be better prepared to use high-level critical thinking skills in innovative ways. Round Table Session on Discovering the Potential of Collaborating with Latin America by EUMex-Connect

EUMex-Connect, a partner of EURAS, has participated at the Academic Research Leadership Program (ARLP), organized by the Brussels Liaison office of the University of Wolverhampton this week. This event gathered researchers from UK to discuss how to enhance collaboration in research, development and innovation between UK and EU and Non EU partners. EUMex-Connect has been at the Roundtable session on “Research & Innovation Collaboration with EU and non-EU partners (non-EU Perspective) and presented the potential that Latin America has as a region to establish effective partnerships in research and innovation, and how they help to facilitate international collaboration between Europe and Latin America.


TUBITAK - France PHC Bosphorus 2019-2020 Joint Project Proposal Call

The PHC Bosphorus is the Hubert Curien Partnership between France and Turkey. Save the date for Libya Restart Conference

UNIMED will organize with the support of the European Delegation for Libya, temporarily based in Tunisia, the Libya Restart conference which will be held in Tunis from 17 to 18 July 2018. Libya Restart is a conference composed by Higher Education Institutions from the Libyan society organized and has to be intended as a space for dialogue between the Libyan universities and the European higher education system in order to promote forms of joint collaboration starting from a detailed needs analysis. The first day of the conference will be devoted to presenting the needs of the Libyan institutions, through the presentation of the need assessment by UNIMED, prepared with local Libyan experts and academics.
